SAP Development & Consulting

An SAP development and consulting company for the gap standard SAP leaves open

BinaryBrill is an SAP development and consulting company for organisations whose finance or supply chain already runs on SAP, closing the gap between what standard functionality covers and what your process actually needs. Our SAP implementation services and ABAP development are delivered by in-house senior engineers who keep the core clean, so the extensions survive your next upgrade instead of blocking it.

Where standard SAP stops fitting

The gap is being covered by spreadsheets

Standard SAP handles ninety percent of the process and the remaining ten percent gets done in a workbook someone re-keys back in at month end. Nobody planned it that way; it accumulated because the fix needed a developer and the ticket queue was long. The spreadsheet is now doing production work with no version control and no audit trail.

Custom code was bolted straight onto the core

A previous implementation partner modified standard objects directly rather than extending alongside them, and now every SAP upgrade is a project in itself because the modifications have to be re-applied and re-tested by hand. The system works today, but it's actively getting more expensive to keep working.

Master data disagrees with itself across modules

The same material exists under two different numbers because two legacy systems were migrated in without reconciliation. Finance, procurement and warehouse each trust their own version, and a report that joins across modules quietly produces a number nobody can defend in an audit.

Interfaces are held together with file drops

A nightly batch file moves data between SAP and the CRM, the warehouse system, or a banking portal, and when the format on one side changes, the failure surfaces as a discrepancy weeks later rather than an error on the night it happened. Nobody owns the interface, so nobody notices until finance can't reconcile.

How we approach SAP development and consulting

SAP rarely needs replacing. It needs the genuine gap closed properly, the core left alone, and the data feeding it made trustworthy. That's where we focus the engineering.

Extend beside the core, not inside it

Where custom logic is genuinely required, we build side-by-side extensions or clean custom developments rather than modifying standard objects directly. That keeps the core upgradeable and means the next SAP release is a scheduled event, not an emergency re-test of every custom transaction.

Confirm the gap before writing ABAP

A surprising amount of what looks like a missing feature is a configuration setting nobody enabled or a report nobody built. We check the standard functionality against your actual requirement before committing to custom development, because configuration is cheaper to maintain than code and survives an upgrade without intervention.

Master data with an owner and a reconciliation trail

For material, customer, vendor and financial master data, we agree which system is authoritative, run cleansing against rules your finance and operations leads sign off, and load with reconciliation reports you can audit line by line. Integrations built on clean master data hold; integrations built on duplicate records turn into a manual matching job.

Interfaces built to be monitored

Whether the connection to a CRM, warehouse or banking system runs over APIs, IDocs or file exchange, we design in error handling and alerting so a failed interface is visible to a named person the same day, not discovered at month-end close.

What this covers

Pick the piece you need, or bring us the problem and we'll tell you which applies.

SAP Implementation Services & Consulting

Consulting on how much of your requirement standard SAP already covers, and implementation of the modules, configuration and rollout plan that follows. We work from what SAP does out of the box first, because a well-configured standard process is cheaper to run and maintain than a custom one.

  • Module scoping and configuration against your real finance or supply chain process
  • Honest configure-versus-build recommendations, including where a licence covers a need you're paying to duplicate
  • Phased rollout planning so go-live risk is contained to one site or process at a time
  • SAP consulting partner support through blueprinting, realisation and cutover

ABAP Development & Custom Reports

Custom reports, forms and transactions built where standard functionality genuinely falls short, alongside side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP that keep modifications out of the core. Every piece of ABAP is written to survive the next upgrade rather than complicate it.

  • Custom reports, forms and transactions built where standard functionality falls short
  • ABAP development alongside side-by-side extensions that keep the core clean
  • CDS views and Fiori apps for processes that need a better interface than the standard GUI
  • Code reviewed for upgrade compatibility before it goes anywhere near production

SAP Integration Services

Interfaces between SAP and CRM, warehouse, e-commerce and banking systems, built through whichever channel the counterpart actually supports — modern APIs where available, IDocs or file exchange where they're not. Every interface gets reconciliation and alerting rather than a silent nightly job.

  • Interfaces to CRM, warehouse, e-commerce and banking systems via APIs, IDocs or file exchange
  • SAP PI/PO or SAP Integration Suite used where the number of endpoints justifies middleware
  • Error handling and alerting so a failed interface is caught the same day, not at month-end
  • Reconciliation reports proving both sides of an interface still agree

SAP Master Data Cleansing & Migration

Master data cleansing and load programmes for material, customer, vendor and financial data, with the deduplication and validation rules agreed with your business before anything is loaded. Reconciliation reports show exactly what matched, merged and was rejected.

  • Master data cleansing and load programmes with reconciliation you can audit
  • Deduplication and survivorship rules agreed with finance and operations before go-live
  • Trial loads run repeatedly into a sandbox client before anything is committed to production
  • Data migration scoped as its own workstream, not squeezed into the tail of a project

SAP Managed Support & Upgrade Readiness

Ongoing SAP support for organisations that need routine changes and a proper answer to production issues, plus upgrade readiness work that re-tests custom code and interfaces before an S/4HANA move rather than after it breaks something.

  • Defined response times for production issues versus routine enhancement requests
  • Upgrade impact assessments that flag custom code likely to break before the upgrade happens
  • Transport management and release documentation kept current, not reconstructed after the fact
  • Knowledge transfer so your internal team can handle routine configuration changes

How we'll work together

Every stage ends with something in your hands — not a status update.

  1. 01

Assess the landscape and the gap

We review your current SAP configuration, the modules genuinely in use, and the spreadsheets or workarounds covering the rest. Each gap gets classified as a configuration fix, a side-by-side extension, or custom ABAP, with the cost difference between them made explicit.

You get: A landscape assessment, a gap classification with cost implications, and a prioritised recommendation for what to configure, extend or build.

  2. 02

    Design against the real process

For each gap we're building for, we document the process with the people who run it, including the manual steps the spreadsheet currently performs, then design the ABAP program, interface or Fiori app as a specification your process owner can review before development starts.

You get: A functional and technical specification, a data model for any new custom objects, and sign-off from the process owner.

  3. 03

    Build, test and integrate

Development happens in a sandbox client against representative data, with unit and integration testing before anything reaches quality assurance. Interfaces to CRM, warehouse or banking systems are built with reconciliation and alerting from the first version, not added after go-live.

You get: Working custom objects and interfaces in a QA client, a test log, and reconciliation reports for any master data load involved.

  4. 04

    Transport, train and support

Changes move through your transport landscape on a planned schedule with a documented rollback, and we train the people who'll use the new transaction or report. We stay through the first close or reporting cycle because that's when the real edge cases in the data show up.

You get: Production transports with release documentation, role-based training material, and a support handover pack.

Where we've applied this

Manufacturing

Production orders, quality inspections and maintenance notifications kept in sync with procurement, so a late delivery shows up as a schedule risk rather than a surprise on the shop floor.

Logistics & distribution

Custom transportation and warehouse extensions where standard SAP logistics modules don't reflect a particular carrier network or yard process.

Retail & consumer goods

Pricing, promotions and stock visibility reconciled across SAP and e-commerce or point-of-sale systems that were never designed to talk to it directly.

Financial services

Finance and controlling extensions with the approval workflow and audit trail a regulator will ask to see, built as side-by-side apps rather than core modifications.

Healthcare & pharmaceuticals

Batch and lot traceability through procurement and production, with the master data discipline regulatory reporting depends on.

Professional services & utilities

Project systems and plant maintenance extended with custom reporting that management actually uses instead of exporting to Excel every month.

Questions buyers ask us

Is our problem a configuration gap or a genuine need for custom ABAP?

We check standard SAP against your actual requirement before recommending either. A surprising number of gaps people assume need custom development are a configuration setting that was never enabled, or a standard report nobody built a variant for. ABAP earns its place when the process is genuinely particular to your business — a pricing rule, an approval chain, a document format a regulator specifies. We'll tell you which one your gap actually is before quoting.

Large partners suit landscape-wide S/4HANA transformation programmes with dozens of workstreams running in parallel. For extension, integration and support work around an SAP system you already run, a smaller in-house team is usually faster to engage, cheaper per hour, and gives you continuity — the engineer who wrote the ABAP is the one who supports it. Several clients use both: a systems integrator for the core rollout, and us for everything after go-live.

How much of the requirement standard SAP already covers, how many modules and interfaces the change touches, and the state of the master data involved. A configuration change in one module is inexpensive; a custom development that spans finance, procurement and a third-party interface costs more because each side has to be tested against the others. We price firmly after the assessment, not before it.

Yes, if it was built to. Side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP and clean custom developments that don't modify standard objects directly carry forward with normal re-testing. Code that was patched straight into standard transactions is what turns an upgrade into a rebuild. If you're carrying that kind of technical debt, we assess it as part of upgrade readiness rather than discovering it mid-project.

When the process in question isn't really an SAP process at all — a customer-facing portal, a mobile app, a workflow that belongs in a lighter tool. Building it inside SAP just to keep everything in one system usually costs more in licensing and development time than integrating a purpose-built application through an API or interface. We'll say so rather than finding a way to justify the SAP build.

Interfaces move only the fields the receiving system needs, not a full table export, and access to sensitive master data is controlled through SAP authorisation objects configured against your actual policy. Where an interface touches financial or personal data across a border, we design the exchange to match your data residency and retention obligations rather than defaulting to a generic file drop.

A configuration fix or a single custom report can land in a few weeks. A material integration — connecting SAP to a CRM or warehouse system with proper reconciliation — typically runs eight to twelve weeks depending on data quality. Master data cleansing programmes are scoped separately because the effort depends entirely on how messy the source data is, which the assessment tells us early.

Our own in-house engineers in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Punjab — 45+ of them, with over a decade of combined delivery experience, delivering for clients in 15+ countries. Nothing is subcontracted. You own the code, the transports and the documentation from day one, and the engineer who built a piece of custom development is the one who explains it in the sprint demo.

Yes, and it's a common arrangement. Your team usually holds the configuration history and business context; we typically take the ABAP development, integration builds and upgrade-readiness testing. We can also embed an engineer directly into your transport and release process rather than running a separate one.
